Diehl Aviation's smoke detection for aviation is based on the technology of optical light scattering on fire aerosols, which has been proven for many years. Coupled with additional temperature sensors and chamber heating against condensation, the result is a multi-sensor technology that is robust against false alarms and at the same time reliable. It can be controlled via a CAN bus interface, for example.Fully automatic fire detection, which has always been obligatory in aviation, has also been mandatory in rail transport for several years. For this purpose, Diehl Aviation has adapted its product portfolio and now offers its aviation stray beam fire detectors with the proven reliability also for railway applications. In addition to operators such as Deutsche Bahn AG, the most important customers are in particular the OEMs Siemens, Bombardier, Alstom, Stadler.
